Every year Allen Real Estate and the
Chestnut Forks Athletic Club sponsor the Fauquier County Tennis
Championships. They are from July 28 to August 21, 2011 and are
played at Chestnut Forks Athletic Club in Warrenton. Get together
with friends and enjoy great tennis. All to benefit the Boys and
Girls Club of Fauquier and Fauquier High School Tennis Program.
On October 15, Tray attended a seminar on Foreclosures and Short Sales.
The lecture was given by Lead Counsel for the Va. Association of
Realtors, Lem Marshall and included such topics as the foreclosure
process in Virginia, steps involved in negotiating short sales, dealing
with REO (bank-owned property) and general issues that arise in dealing
with distressed properties.
On Friday May 1, 2009 Fauquier County celebrated its 250th
anniversary. There were civil war re-enactments, town criers, parades,
an unveiling of a time capsule, and much more. Fauquier County truly is
the heart of the hunt country.
Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton is one of the best. On the
Federal Government Hospital Comparison web site, of the 75 hospitals
within a 100 mile radius of downtown Washington DC, only 4 scored higher
than Fauquier one of which is the storied Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
All 86 rooms at Fauquier Hospital are private and they actually have a
concierge who can send up something from the Bistro to fit your
schedule. They employ the Planetree principals which is patient, family
and staff friendly. The comparison was based on whether patients would
return to the hospital for another treatment.
Ut Prosim Society – Joe and Janice Allen were recently
inducted into the society at Virginia Tech. “The University’s highest
expression of appreciation is offered thru the Ut Prosim Society, a
unique organization created to convey our gratitude to those whose
generosity is extraordinary." Joe is a 1970 graduate of Virginia Tech. |
