Joe Allen, Jr.
(Principal Broker)
Joe Allen, Jr., founded Allen Real Estate Company in 1990 after sixteen years of managing offices for two of the largest real estate companies in Northern Virginia.
Born in Philadelphia, he has lived in the Warrenton area of Virginia for most of his life. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
A graduate of the College of Business of Virginia Tech (BS) and the Realtors Institute (GRI),
Joe is a Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) and is qualified as a Virginia Land Specialist (VLS). A past president of the Fauquier Association of REALTORS, he
was recognized by the U.S. JAYCEES as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America.
He has traveled the world attending lectures and seminars, to stay abreast of the latest information and technology in tax strategies, historic properties, economics, market condition and general brokerage procedures.
He is a past director of the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of preservation groups, Virginia Historical Association, the REALTORS Land Institute, and the National Association of Realtors.
Internationally, he is a member of the International Real Estate Institute and British-American Business Association. Business activities have included exhibiting his listings in Hong Kong at the largest real estate exhibition ever held in Asia and the MIPIM Real Estate Conference in Cannes.
While it is important to know the background of the real estate agent you work with, your objective is to buy or sell real estate. Is the agent capable in the
real estate business?
During his thirty-five years in real estate, nearly one-half
billion in real estate production has crossed his desk as a manager and broker.
Typically he enjoys sales production of between 20 and 40 million dollars. This is more than 20 times the average production of a typical real estate agent and is consistently among the top producing agents in the entire Warrenton/Rappahannock/ Culpeper/Fauquier/Middleburg marketplace. If you are interviewing agents, ask about PERSONAL success not the success or size of the agentıs office or company. These numbers are made possible by the unique approach used by Allen Real Estate. Capable of handling all price ranges and categories, his production includes $250,000 lots as well as the magnificent $8,000,000 estate, North Wales; the internationally known thoroughbred estate Buckland Farm that sold for $2,900,000; and Canterbury at $7,500,000 - considered to be one of the most perfect Georgians in America. As with most of his sales,
Joe both listed and sold these fine properties. His firm is well known as the clearing house in the Warrenton area for unique and interesting country properties, cottages, land, and estates.
In 1993, he wrote a manual "How to Sell Luxury Homes," which has been marketed in North America and abroad. The manual shows other agents not how to convince people to buy and sell; but rather how to work professionally with people to understand their needs and emotions, and to apply the work ethic to get it done. He is currently working on the second edition.

Tray
Allen
(Broker)
Joseph K. (Tray) Allen III
joined Allen Real Estate in 1998. Born and raised in the
Warrenton area and being the third generation of his family to
enter real estate, he has effectively been a student of the
business his entire life and is very familiar with...and
familiar to, the Fauquier community and surrounding counties.
A graduate of the
Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va., Tray went on to attend
the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech where he
graduated with a B.S. in Finance in 1998. During his high
school tenure, he successfully completed the Outward Bound
School at Hurricane Island, Maine. While at Va. Tech,
besides being an avid football fan, Tray was a member of the
Finance Club, Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and played numerous
intramural sports including soccer, basketball, softball and
tennis. He has traveled throughout most of Europe and
parts of Asia.
Upon joining the family
business in 1998, Tray was tapped early on to serve on the Board
of Directors of the Greater Piedmont Area Association of
Realtors. In addition to regular board duties, he served as
chairman of the Realtor's Political Action Committee.
In the community, he
served on the Board of Directors of the Fauquier Family Shelter
Services (homeless shelter) and currently the Board of Directors of the Boys and
Girls Club of Fauquier, where he is actively involved in a major
Capital Fund Raising Campaign which will allow the local club,
for the first time in its history, to purchase their own
building!
Allen Real Estate is
particularly proud of its involvement in the Fauquier County
Tennis Championships as the tournament's co-sponsor since 1990.
Over the years, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised to
benefit local organizations including the Fauquier Falcon
Boosters, Boys and Girls Club, Fauquier Family Shelter Services
Hospice and the SPCA. This event is especially close to
Tray due to his love of the sport (he's won a few titles of his
own) and his participation in the organizations that it
benefits. He looks forward every year to handling the full
promotion and planning of the tournament activities along with
tournament director (and lifelong friend) Derek Maloney of
Chestnut Forks Athletic Club.
At Allen Real Estate, Tray
is comfortable selling properties in all price ranges and
handles all marketing for the company. Tray serves as Vice
President of Sales and Production and has been instrumental in
processing and closing over $117,000,000 in production since 2004.
Professional designations and credentials include being a
graduate of the Realtor's Institute (GRI), becoming a licensed
real estate broker in 2001 and many educational seminars for
various real estate related topics.
